I, the student, note the availability of pre-enrolment information at and agree to the below:

  • Acceptance to a course is subject to successful completion of a selection and/or interview process and I agree that ihBC (ihBusiness College) in its absolute discretion, may accept or reject my application to undertake the course.
  • Once a place has been offered, it can only be secured when a deposit or full fee (as stated in the Course Dates and Fees Schedule)has been paid. I agree that if I do not pay the balance of fees 7 days prior to course commencement that my position in the course can be offered to another candidate. I am aware that application fees apply to submitting this application and are refundable only according to the ihBC Refund Policy.
  • I am obligated to inform ihBC of a change of address while enrolled in a course


Privacy Notice

Under the Data Provision Requirements 2012, ihBC is required to collect personal information about you and to disclose that personal information to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER).

Your personal information (including the personal information contained on this enrolment form and your training activity data) may be used or disclosed by ihBC for statistical, regulatory and research purposes. ihBC may disclose your personal information for these purposes to third parties, including:

  • Commonwealth and State or Territory government departments and authorised agencies;
  • NCVER;
  • Organisations conducting student surveys; and
  • Researchers.

Personal information disclosed to NCVER may be used or disclosed for the following purposes:

  • Issuing statements of attainment or qualification, and populating authenticated VET transcripts;
  • facilitating statistics and research relating to education, including surveys;
  • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information; and
  • administering VET, including programme administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation.

You may receive an NCVER student survey which may be administered by an NCVER employee, agent or third party contractor. You may opt out of the survey at the time of being contacted.

NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the VET Data Policy and all NCVER policies and protocols (including those published on NCVER’s website at

You acknowledge and agree that any testimonials by you or photos of you which are used by ihBC are property of the ih Business College and may be used for the Institute’s promotional material, unless otherwise indicated in a written request.

Terms and Conditions

ihBC is bound by the legislation of the Australian Government in their responsibilities to overseas students. Details of this legal framework, the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act), the Education Services for Overseas Students Legislation Amendment (Tuition Protection Service and Other Measures) Act 2012, and other associated legislations can be found at

Acceptance into a course

The College is not obligated to accept any application. Accepting a student into a course is at the discretion of ihBC and no reason will be provided for any rejection.

All students are bound by the terms and conditions of ihBC and the non-observance of those terms may result in the cancellation of the enrolment.

Payment of fees

All fees must be paid in Australian Dollars at least one week prior to start date. Failing to do so may result in being unable to access the Student Learning Management system.

A late payment fee of $100.00 per week applies


More than 28 working days written notice before the original course starts: Full refund of tuition fees less any enrolment fees, additional fees, course deposit and accommodation booking fees. A $300 Admin Fee applies to all refunds.

28 working days or less but greater than 14 working days written notice before the original course start date: 80% of tuition fees less any enrolment fees, additional fees, course deposit and accommodation booking fees. A $300 Admin Fee applies to all refunds.

14 working days or less written notice before the original course start date: 0% refund. There is no refund of tuition or any fees for cancellation fewer than 14 working days before the original course start date.

Students with unauthorised re-application may not be entitled to refund.


  • It may be possible, up to two weeks before a course starts, to transfer to a later course date
  • Deposits are non refundable
  • No refund will be issued if you do not commence a course for which you have paid or if you withdraw after you have commenced the course
  • If your visa is denied, a full refund of all unused Course fees and related fees will be made provided that ihBC receives a copy of the Australian Embassy rejection letter prior to course commencement and within 24 hours of the default date. In the case of a visa refusal based on fraudulent documents, no refund will be issued. An Admin Fee of $300 applies to all refunds.
  • ihBC will issue a full refund in the event of a course being cancelled or not completed by ihBC due to insufficient numbers or any other reason. In this event, the full refund will be paid within 2 weeks after the provider default date.
  • If you request a refund you will do so in writing addressed to the Principal of the centre, stating the reason for your request and including all other necessary information that support this request. In the event that a refund is granted by ihBC, it shall be paid within 4 weeks of receipt of the written claim. In the event of a visa refusal, refunds may take up to 8 weeks. An Admin Fee of $300 applies to all refunds.
  • A transfer request from/to ihBC within 6 months of the principal course is only accepted where a release letter is received/issued by ihBC and in accordance with Standard 3 of National Code 2007. It is at the discretion of ihBC to allow transfers to another provider prior the 6 months period.
  • All refunds and course withdrawal requests must be supported by the relevant forms and documentation.

Special circumstances, compelling and compassionate reasons to cancel or differ from a course

Special circumstances, compelling and compassionate reasons are defined by: death of close family such as parents, siblings, children and grand parents, serious illness and life threatening conditions, involvement into a traumatic event such as experiencing or witnessing a crime.

Application with special circumstances, compelling and compassionate reasons must be supported by documents and the application form.

Health insurance cover

All student visa holders must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) which provides medical and hospital insurance in Australia. You must not arrive in Australia before your health insurance starts. If you are in Australia and do not have adequate health insurance, you are in breach of visa condition 8501. The College can organise your OSHC coverage for you, or you can select an approved OSHC provider yourself and pay the policy. If the College arranges your OSHC coverage, you will need to know the name of your health insurance provider, the date that your policy starts and finishes and should be aware of the terms and conditions of your policy. If you arrange OSHC coverage yourself you will also need to know the policy number to include in the visa application.

Student responsibilities

By studying at ihBC you agree to respect the student Code of conduct and the College’s terms and conditions. The student code of conduct can be found in the Student handbook.

To study at ihBC you must hold a valid visa and must abide to your visa conditions.

You must notify the College of any changes in your contact details, emergency contact and address of residence.

Failure of a student not observing their visa conditions, breaching the student code of conduct or not paying due fees to the College, may result in the cancellation of enrolment and the report in PRISMS.

In the instance of a student’s enrolment to be cancelled, an Intention to report letter will be sent to the student and their agent providing the student with 20 days to appeal the decision. No response from the student within that timeframe will result in the cancellation of enrolment and notification to relevant organisations. All appeals must be supported by documentation and an appeal form.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

All students can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning for any of the units included into their course. Students can have their prior learning recognised by ihBC if they submit an application prior the course starting date. Students can request an RPL kit to prepare for their application. Each application will be assessed within two weeks of being received by the college and the approval will depend on the assessment. If a student has some Recognition of Prior Learning then the duration of the course will be reduced accordingly. If a student on a Student Visa is granted RPL for one or more units prior to commencing their qualification, the school will calculate the proportion of the course that the RPL involves and the course length will be shortened to the length of full-time study remaining in the course. If RPL is granted after arrival in Australia and after visa issue, the school has the responsibility to inform Department of Home Affairs of the shortened length of the course. As a result, their visa will be adjusted accordingly.

Payment of $250 per unit is required, to be paid by the student at the time of applying for RPL.

Credit Transfer

Course credit and recognition of prior learning is part of a system to allow students to provide the

appropriate evidence to achieve course credit and to acknowledge and accommodate the recognition of other RTO qualifications and statements of attainment.

Students need to apply for course credit in writing with supporting evidence as required. if the course credit is granted before the student visa grant, indicate the actual net course duration (as reduced by course credit) in the confirmation of enrolment issued for that student for that course, or if the course credit is granted after the student visa grant, report the change of course duration via PRISMS under section 19 of the ESOS Act.
