Demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. This course will equip you with the skills in identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and implementing procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. As well as correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
This course provides the ‘White Card’, which is mandatory for anyone working in construction.
This Skill Set covers the skills and knowledge required to:
- undertake construction work;
- demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others.
This Skill Set involves:
- identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies;
- correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
The Skill Set is suitable for individuals who:
- intend to work in construction.
On successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment. Transfer the skills towards a full qualification or a set of job ready skills.
